Composite (tooth colored) Fillings
When a cavity is present, the decay must be removed in order to save the tooth. The void that is left after decay is removed is filled in with a material referred to as composite resin.
Back in the day, the most popular material used for fillings was amalgam, often referred to as “metal” or “silver mercury fillings”. Amalgam has been replaced by a material known as composite, allowing you to have a tooth colored filling that is actually bonded to the tooth which lowers the potential for recurrent decay around the edges of the filling. Many people elect to have their amalgam fillings replaced with tooth colored fillings (composite) for aesthetic reasons.
Tooth colored fillings can last for many years and come in a variety of shades. Dr. Roth is able to very closely match the shade of your fillings to your natural tooth color so that it will be almost impossible for people to notice.

Advanced Teeth Whitening
One of the easiest and most common ways to cosmetically improve your smile is to bleach your teeth with teeth whitening. This has become very popular in American culture and is spreading world wide. Many people now believe that teeth whitening is a form of routine smile maintenance and routine care.
Dr. Roth has options for you to use a take home kit or to have an accelerated process done in the office.
Teeth often become discolored as we age or as a result of our daily habits, such as smoking, drinking coffee, sodas or red wine. Some patients have discolored teeth due to tetracycline staining which is an enamel defect occurring before birth and is related to antibiotics taken by the mother during pregnancy.
The degree of whitening does vary from person to person, but Dr. Roth will have a general idea of the results you will get from teeth whitening when you have your consultation.
If you decide to use the take home method of teeth whitening, Dr. Roth’s team will make custom fitted trays for you that can be worn during specified times with whitening solution placed in the tray before being placed over your teeth.
There are different solutions of different strengths and Dr. Roth will determine which solution is best for you based on your specific circumstances. Most patients begin to notice a change in tooth color in a few days and results can vary, depending on the individual.
